The eighth issue of the Star of the Sea magazine was published by the Chaldean Church in New Zealand in June 2010. This issue as always is full of social, religious and cultural themes resulting from the fruits of a good number of its authors. The front cover shows the words of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta, mother of the poor telling us about poverty with the background showing Jesus looking for those left behind and the outcasts in our world today.
This issue contains articles on mercy, fasting and its practice, interview of the edition with sister Widad Wadie Bashir, the painting of The Last Supper, story of the edition, Sacrament of the Sick, ask your doctor regarding breast cancer in addition to other English pages full of our youth’s contributions with a special note about the interview with Cardinal Francis Arinze from the Roman Curia (the Vatican) and Bishop Patrick Dunn of Auckland.
We hope for our readers the pleasure of reading this issue and that future editions carry in its pages your written contributions, news items and activities and to take what is appropriate for the benefit of all.
